ADMINISTRATOR

The administrator can access all the users options described in the user help page in addition to the following administrator functions. When the admin button is selected it takes you to the admin menu, which has the following options.

Home
Approve words
Insert
List/Delete words
Add category
Add word class

Home

Can return to the administrator home page at anytime by clicking on this tab.

Approve Words

All the words that the user inserts are listed here for the administrator to approve or delete. Here you can simply click on the selection box provided beside each word and then by clicking on approve or delete button the words will be added to the database or will be deleted from the temporary listing.

List / Delet

This option gives the administrator the ability to list all words in the dictionary. The administrator can also delete any of these previously approved words by selecting them by clicking on the selection box provided beside the words and then clicking on delete button.

Insert

The administrator can insert words to the dictionary. These words will pass the temporary list and will be directly stored in the database. Follow the steps below to insert the word to the dictionary:

Selecting the type of dictionary
Enter the word
Choose word class or leave it at default value of unknown
Choose category or leave it at default value of unknown
Enter the meaning or definitions
You can click on add more meaning button to add more meanings
Then click on add to store the words to the database

Further, if you want to enter meaning for a word within the definition and provide a link to look up that particular word, for example you define “dictator: one that dictates” and now when you click on dictates you want the user to view the meaning for “dictates”. To enable such capability use the following syntax to enter the words and meanings.

Example:

Insert the word: dictator
Meaning: one that (.)dictates(.) [The (.) is used by passer to detect the pattern]

Then insert the word: dictates
Meaning: to speak or act domineeringly

So, now when you search the word “dictator” the following will appear Dictator: the one that dictates and when you click on dictates, it will directly take you to the meaning “to speak or act domineering”. Thus eliminating the need to do a fresh search for the word “dictates”.

Add Category

To add a new category, just type the category in the field and click on add. This will add and automatically update the category drop down menu on the insert function.

Add Word Class

To add a new word class, just type the word class (verb, adjective etc.) in the field and click on add. This will add and automatically update the word class drop down menu on the insert function.
